Instrumentation and Monitoring at RETC 2025 from Alava International
After an intense week, RETC 2025 has come to an end. This key hub for the industry has offered to all attendees, among which Alava International has been present, the possibility to share the latest technologies in instrumentation and monitoring for tunnel construction. Also, to learn about best practices in the sector, the activity of other companies working in it and to strengthen ties with customers and partners.

RETC 2025: A key hub for tunnel construction experts
RETC is the main event for tunnel construction professionals and companies in the region. Over the course of four days, its main representatives have met in Dallas (Texas) to learn about the latest techniques applied to tunnel construction. They were also brought up to date on the progress of the most important projects underway in various parts of the United States.
The event has also served as a meeting point to seek new collaborations, as well as to deepen the existing ones in an environment where opportunities flow easily among the attendees. We have shared our surveying solutions and modeling services for underground constructions with all the visitors to our booth, as well as informing them, among other things, about our participation in the largest construction project in the history of Virginia.
Instrumentation and monitoring applications in tunneling
One of the main areas of RETC 2025 was, as planned, dedicated to instrumentation and monitoring solutions for tunnels and related structures in the United States, as well as their applications in the field. Alava International has extensive experience in the instrumentation, monitoring and control of the entire construction process of these infrastructures, tasks that are increasingly important for the safety and reliability of this type of projects.
At our stand at RETC 2025 we have shown the companies and professionals who have visited us the technologies and services we offer for monitoring tunneling constructions: from the supply and installation of systems, and their maintenance, to the development of I&M plans (inspection and maintenance).
In addition, we also offer impact assessments (CIAR) and generate monitoring reports and data interpretation. Thanks to these technologies, as well as the expertise of our professionals, it is possible to continuously monitor the construction work required to make a tunnel project a reality and avoid, among other things, problems resulting from unexpected changes in the ground.
Industry trends and collaboration over competition
In addition to sharing our technologies and applications in tunnel construction, and its instrumentation and monitoring, RETC 2025 has allowed our experts to learn about the latest trends in the industry and to know which are the most relevant for their application in upcoming projects. Both in construction techniques, and in monitoring and supervision of works and ground conditions before, during and after the execution of a project.
Sharing all this knowledge has been very enriching, and confirms the good atmosphere and collaborative spirit that reigns in the tunnel construction sector. It is a very niche market within the infrastructure industry, where all companies and professionals know each other, with events like this one, where opportunities flow and there is a growing interest in seeking partnerships.
